AIM NGO’s contribution in carrying out the message of TWAD Board to the common people.

AIM NGO actively associated with TWAD Boad since 2006 in spreading the motto and essence of central government's schemes like Rajiv Gandhi National Drinking Water Mission, Swajaldhara Project, National Rural Drinking Water Programme, and Jal Jeevan Mission following their guidelines and implementation of the following schemes in many districts of Tamilnadu, mainly in Coimbatore and Nilgiris Districts

Training for school teachers, PTA members, and students on health and hygiene practices, water quality monitoring, and testing water samples using the TWAD Board's Field Water Test Kit (FWTK), as well as the operation and maintenance of the Jalmaani (water purification instrument) installed in the government schools. Also raised awareness about Rain Water Harvesting with the set up of a small exhibition with live models, photo banners, etc.

Imparting Training for Village Water and Sanitation Committee (VWSC) members, sanitary inspectors, village nurses, and Anganwadi workers on routine water quality checks and preventive measures to prevent water contamination.

Training was provided to Grass Root Level workers such as pump operators, electricians, etc., for operation and maintenance of piped water supply schemes, water supply system sustainability, reduction in wastage of water, and maintenance instruction on how to operate and maintain.

Training was imparted to VWSC members in the Coimbatore District on Planning, Monitoring, and Managing Panchayat Water Supply Schemes.

Trained grass-root workers and female SHG members to monitor water quality by testing water samples with FWTK, health and hygiene practices, and safe water handling.

The Gramasabha was held in 31 Panchayats across 12 unions in the Coimbatore District to raise awareness about the community’s participation in water management and sanitation.

World Water Day (22nd March), World Hand Washing Day (15th October), World Toilet Day (19th November), and so on were all observed. As per the guidance of TWAD officials, the awareness rallies were conducted in many rural areas of the Coimbatore district with the participation of Panchayat elected members, school teachers, students, and the general public.

In the year 2019, as the coordinator of the TWAD Board, a painting competition and slogan writing competition was conducted for government school students of Madukkarai and Periyanayakkan Palayam Unions with Topic: “Drinking water conservation and rainwater harvesting”

AIM NGO has given back support to Aathi Media Associates when they were engaged by TWAD Board to create awareness about rainwater harvesting, and water and sanitation aspects in many rural areas and government schools in Tamil Nadu through audio-visual show programs.

Assisted and participated in conducting an awareness rally organized by TWAD Board during the celebration of World Water Day 2022. Saplings were planted in the presence of TWAD officials at the TWAD training center campus on the World Water Day.”

  • Activities with the Neer Inaiyam, NGO, New zealand

    In 2018, a public awareness meeting was conducted on “Water Management” and “Water conservation” at the TNHB apartment campus, Selvapuram in which Nearly 150 residents participated.

    In 2020, an online Essay writing Competition for School and College Students at Tamil Nadu State Level was conducted on the topic “Innovative Ideas in Water Resource Conservation Practices”. One hundred students who presented the best ideas were given prizes and appreciation through the internet. All the participating students were given a participation certificate online.

    At Coimbatore District Level, an oratorical competition was conducted on the topics of "Water Management" and "Environmental Protection" to create awareness among government school students.

    On October 19, 2019, an awareness conference on "Water Management and Environmental Protection" was organized at the CRI Trust Auditorium, located at Siddhaputhur Corporation Higher Secondary School. In the same stage, the following social workers who have contributed much to society were selected and honored.

    Thirukkural ambassador Dr. M.K. Anwar Bhatsa with the award of "Natamaadum Thirukkural Semmal", Mr. CR Ilangovan with "Historical Research Semmal" Kurudampalayam panchayat President Dr. D. Ravi with "Thooimai Valar Semmal", Kovai Kulangal Paathukaappu Amaippu Mr. R. Manikandan and Kuruchi Kulam Paathukaappu Amaippu "Pon. Arumugam" with “Neer Valam Paathukaappuch chemmal"award.

    In the year 2022, We conducted a Tamil Nadu state-level online speech contest. The competition was inaugurated by Coimbatore Corporation Commissioner Mr. Rajagopal Sunkara. I.A.S. School students were given the topic “Importance and Conservation of Water Resources” and the College students were given the topic “Rehabilitation, Rejuvenation, and Conservation of Water”. About 800 students from all over Tamil Nadu participated enthusiastically.

  • Student welfare activities:

    On February 21, 2010, a model examination on Mathematics for +2 Students in Coimbatore followed the exact pattern of +2 public examinations. More than 1000 students participated and benefited..

    For the welfare of the students adopted by Prapancha Seva Asharamam chairs with writing pads attached (25 Nos.), Banyans, Towels, etc., were donated.

    Many college students were trained in internship training programs with the coordination of AIM NGO activities.

    Provided funding support for poor school and college students.

  • State & District Level competitions

    Dr. M. Kanagaraj Memorial Award, The Coimbatore district-level mathematics quiz competition for college students was conducted and awarded cash prizes and rolling shields.

    In the year 2015, with the support of the Lions club, a speech competition on the topic "Methods to 2020 India as a Superpower" 2020 and an essay competition on the topic "Methods to Realize the Dream" were also conducted. A.P.J. Abdul Kalam sir's close friend Mr. Sampathkumar, who was the special guest then, awarded to the winning students with prizes.

  • Joint activities with the Citizens Voice Coimbatore

    A seminar on the "Right to Information Act 2005 & Consumer Protection Act 1986" was conducted in which nearly 100 people participated.

    Conducted short film competitions on consumer rights awareness for the general public.

  • HRD activities for corporate

    Skills enhancement training conducted for staff of Kovai Medical Center & Hospitals, Erode & Coimbatore, Ganga Hospital, Karunya University, etc.

  • Health Activities

    In the year 2015, General Medical Examination and Physiotherapy examinations were arranged for the benefit of the officers and employees' families of the TWAD Board

    We have conducted many awareness programs in the Coimbatore district on Dengue and COVID-19. Distributed free disease preventing herbal medicines to students and the public in many places within the city.

    Grass-roots level workers like corporation sweepers and solid waste collectors were encouraged and made happy by providing hand covers, masks, stainless steel vessels, groceries, vegetables, etc

    Food, groceries, vegetables, and sanitary items were provided to COVID-19-affected people in many areas of Coimbatore city

    Free medical camps for eye and ear checkups at many places in Coimbatore were conducted

    Many free medical checkups were conducted at the Sowdeswari Colony in Ward 77 with the support of the Coimbatore City Municipal Corporation's medical team. The residents of the Sowdeswari Colony and its surrounding benefited from these camps

    To celebrate May 1st, Ulaippaaligal Thinam (Labour’s Day), AIM NGO Managing trustee participated as a special invitee at wards 77, 78 & 79 Sanitary Inspector's office. The sanitary workers have taken a pledge on the responsibility of keeping the city and the environment clean

  • Activities with Police Department

    Samuthaaya Nallinakka Koottam was arranged with the support of the D2 Police Inspector of ward 77 Sowdeswari Colony campus

    Participated in the Road Safety Week awareness event and created awareness among the general public by screening awareness films using an LED awareness vehicle at many places in the Coimbatore district.

  • Flood Relief

    In 2015, AIM NGO volunteers visited flood-affected areas of the Kadalur District and provided clothes, groceries, sanitary items, medicines, etc., to affected people and got an appreciation certificate from the District Collector of Kadalur.

  • Support for Senior Citizens

    Every year, Senior Citizens Day is celebrated by providing groceries, vegetables, fruits, etc., to the Senior Citizen’s homes located in and around Coimbatore.

  • Independence day Celebration

     In 2021, we celebrated the 74th year on Independence Day at Sowdeshwari Colony, Coimbatore. The National Flag was hoisted and saluted by the Managing Trustee of AIM Trust in the presence of the people of the colony.

    Coral Festival Independence Day 2022 was celebrated at Sowdeshwari Colony Campus, Coimbatore. The National Flag was hoisted and saluted by the Managing Trustee of AIM Trust in the presence of the people of the colony. At that time, awareness was created about the role of residents in solid waste management and the need to segregate garbage. We also motivated the residents to use cloth bags instead of plastic bags.
